Polaris Matrix II jersey review

Polaris Matrix II jersey £34.99

This Polaris jersey is made from AirBase fabric which is light and highly breathable and the side panels are made from a stretchy mesh which both gives a better fit and provides ventilation on hot days.

The front zip is three-quarters in length and gives you good ventilation options and there’s silicon gripper tape on the rear hem to stop the jersey riding up at the waist. There’s an abundance of reflective dashes which make it really stand out on the roads.

For carrying food, tools, house keys and other bits and bobs, there are two rear pockets, zipped, which are accessed from the side. Their cargo carrying capacity is on the stingy side and with the zips it’s not quite as quick and easy to get at the contents, but then you’re safe in the knowledge that nothing is going to leap out when you hit a bump in the road.

Sizes from S to XXL are available. The medium came up a good fit, though I felt it was a bit long with the rear tending to sag down low over the bum with stuff in the pockets. It’s a generous fit, being neither on the racy second skin side nor excessively flapping about in the breeze.

Verdict

A nicely designed jersey that is feature packed for not a lot of money, and performs admirably. Not sure about the pockets though…
