Women's racing


The new Luciano Cycles Development races have been developed by British Cycling’s World Class Programme’s department in conjunction with the British Cycling Road Commission and the WCRA (Women’s Cycle Racing Association). There will be four new events in the 2006 calendar to promote positive and aggressive racing amongst women in Category 2/3/4 and Junior Girls too. The 35-40 mile courses are designed to give the Junior riders a chance to get used to racing this distance as expected at the Junior World Championship event.

The events are scheduled for:

  • 2nd April; Martin Ashfield Classic, Nr Brecon, South Wales
  • 9th April; Circuit des Femmes, Darley Moor, Nr Ashbourne
  • 9th July; Circuit Race, Venue TBC, Bedford area
  • 2nd Sept; NW Region TBC, North West
