A few weeks ago we headed North. Yes, I know, we don’t very often. However, it was a great trip as we had a chance to ride Winnats Pass and meet up with the guys at Planet-X.
Peakpad is a peak district based apartment offering a unique living space set against an inspiring backdrop of rolling hills, lush countryside and deep blue reservoirs. The surrounding areas of Bamford, Bakewell and Hathersage offer a gateway to some of the most impressive countryside in the UK. In keeping with the style of the surrounding countryside, neighbouring villages and hamlets peakpad is housed within an exceptional period conversion of the original Ladbybower reservoir pumping station.
The modern open plan 2 bedroom apartment has the capacity to sleep up to 6 adults comfortably, it’s a holiday apartment with all mod cons. It’s actually a holiday home designed specifically with cyclists in mind and perfect for a weekend training camp or even a longer week’s stay to explore the area. But there is plenty more road riding on offer as a longer ride could take in The North York moors and beyond
The Peak district has long been regarded as the finest riding the UK has to offer. Snake’s pass and Winnats are on the doorstep, as is Edale. The peak district offers truly world class riding for both mountain and road bikers. Stunning landscapes and challenging routes
The area is ideal for all things sporting – offering a base for climbing, fishing, rowing, and sailing. Designed with location in mind – the Peakpad apartment comes with a secure indoor bike lock up and wash down area as well as an indoor kit store.
Getting there is really easy too, although try to travel at non ‘peak’ times as the Nottingham/Sheffield section of the M1 can be a bit of a drag. However we made it back to London, door to door in about three and a half hours.
Prices: Bookings are based on a minimum of 3 nights and prices are from as little as £60.00 per night, per group.
