A long Southern Sportive climb |
Trail Break’s flagship cyclosportive ride, the Southern Sportive, has opened entries for the 2008 edition and, although the event is not until September 14th, places are already
selling faster than ever. Event capacity is set at 1,500 riders for this year
and the ride is expected to be a sell-out once again.
Now in its third year, the Southern Sportive is establishing itself as one
of the UK’s classic rides. The course has been widely praised for its stunning
scenery and rider friendly, flowing roads, all complemented by top notch organisation, route marking and support.
As in previous years, there will be a choice of three distances (155k, 112k or
71k) on a route that will be largely unchanged from 2007. "We’ve had such
good feedback about the flow of the course that we don’t want to spoil it just
for the sake of change.", say organisers Trail Break. "It’s a real
rider’s course. It has proved itself as a well-balanced route with the capacity
to challenge and reward you in equal measure. We think it’s the perfect late
season ride and we won’t make any alterations without good reason."
Accompanying the Southern Sportive for the second year is the Sunday Sportive
series of six events across the south of England, each designed to give a regular sportive
workout that fits with the rest of the season. A choice of three distances
is a available at every event (Full Sportive, Mid or Entry level). All events
include the full organisation and support you expect of a TrailBreak sportive at a great entry price.
