Sir Chris Hoy heads Revolution line-up

Sir Chris Hoy is relishing the prospect of honing his form at the Revolution finale ahead of the London-leg of the UCI Track Cycling World Cup.

Sir Chris Hoy tops the Revolution bill

The four-time Olympic champion heads a strong Revolution line-up on Saturday January 28 that includes newly-crowned sprint world champion Jason Kenny, Ross Edgar, who won keirin silver in Beijing, and Great Britain team-mate Matt Crampton.

They will face the French trio of Mickael Bourgain, Michael D’Almeida and Quentin Lafargue, as well as the newly-formed V-Sprint squad featuring up-and-coming British sprinters Dave Daniell, Pete Mitchell and Philip Hindes.

And Hoy believes Revolution will prove the perfect test of form ahead of the World Cup finale in the Olympic velodrome on February 18-20, which doubles at the Games’ official test event.

“The Revolution will be a good opportunity to race and test our form a few weeks ahead of the London World Cup,” said Hoy. “We’ve been out in Perth in Australia on a long training camp and it is always good to get back to racing and see how the hard work has paid off.

“Revolution is a special event with a fantastic home crowd so we always want to perform at our best. There’s a strong sprint line-up and I’m looking forward to the challenge.”

The sprint programme will span across the afternoon, which doubles as the National Madison Championships, and, when Revolution will kick-off, in order to facilitate a full match sprint competition with qualifying and knockout rounds. The keirin and team sprint will also feature on the Revolution sprint programme.

Revolution is sold out but tickets are still available for the National Madison Championships on www.cyclingrevolution.com or by calling 0843 208 0500. TV highlights will be broadcast on ITV4 on Monday January 30 at 7pm.
