It wouldn’t be a Flanders compilation if it didn’t feature the original Lion of Flanders winning.
In 1998 Johan Museeuw sealed his third and final victory in the Ronde, and although he went on to finish on the podium twice more in 1999 and 2002, he could never get the record-breaking fourth win he so dearly wanted.
But despite that, Museeuw is arguably the most beloved rider in the history of the Ronde, and his shadow still looms over the race to this day.
