Paris-Nice 2014: stage five – photo gallery

Carlos Betancur wins stage as Geraint Thomas stays in yellow

A race for the daring we were promised, and a race for the daring we have so far been treated to.

After Geraint Thomas (Team Sky) and Tom-Jelte Slagter (Garmin-Sharp) attacked late on stage four, stage five saw Carlos Betancur (Ag2r-La Mondiale) instigate a similarly successful late escape.

It leaves the leading contenders for the maillot jaune all separated by just a hair’s breadth on the general classifaction with three stages remaining.

Relive stage five through the lens of photographer Pascal Perreve, whose images we bring you with the kind permission of race organisers, the ASO.
