Wiggins the Lionheart roared again in Knowsley Safari Park.
The cycling ‘sir’ had been far from his best all season, but with the chips down just a fortnight from the world championships, Bradley Wiggins showed all his class to decimate the field on stage three of the Tour Britain.
Wiggins’ progress over the flat, 10-mile course showed a rider back to his brilliant best, and will have fired a definite warning to his two prinicpal rivals for the rainbow jersey of world time trial champion: Switzerland’s Fabian Cancellara, and Germany’s Tony Martin.
