Mark Cavendish is a man known for travelling at speed, and the island from which he hails is one that holds a legendary appeal for those with velocity at the top of their agenda.
The Isle of Man TT, however, is for those who require an engine to hit three-digit speeds. Cavendish set out to see if he could top 100kph with his trusty Specialized Venge and one of the most technical descents on the island.
In this video from Jaguar’s Academy of Sport, the Manx Missile descends through the Gooseneck, a turn made famous by the TT, on a road closed for the occasion.
Watch Cavendish aim for the apex while providing a running commentary of his efforts as he bids to break the three-digit barrier.
