We brought you a first look of the Burls fixed bike last week, and while that is right up the street of many city-dwelling cyclists, those venturing further afield may find this, the Burls winter bike, more to their liking.
This Audax-ready cycle is made from 3Al/2.5V titanium and has simple round profile tubes complete with all the necessary mounts for racks and mudguards, all smoothly welded together. Though many bikes being produced these days are designed with ‘integrated’-style headsets, the Burls is one of a few that has passed through the RCUK offices with a non-integrated headset recently.
Burls specialise in building custom, made-to-measure steel and titanium frames, and offer complete bicycles built to any specification. Justin Burls, the designer and frame builder behind the brand, has built up a loyal base of customers, with customer happiness and satisfaction a priority.
Prices start from around £800, but of course the final price will reflect any changes the buyer opts for. Contact www.burls.co.uk for more information.
We’ll be putting in the miles and bringing you a full review in the next couple of weeks.
