Track your form
Track your form
We told you about Strava’s ‘Fitness/Freshness’ feature last month, with the form-tracking tool now available to premium users who ride with a heart rate monitor.
The feature was previously only available to premium users who have a power meter, but the latest update opens it up to a far bigger pool of riders, with heart rate monitors more accessible and affordable.
The tool allows riders to monitor their fitness and fatigue levels, previously measured using ‘Training Load’ and calculated from weighted average power, but now also available as a calculation based on ‘suffer score’ (the amount of time a rider spends in each training zone).
The ‘Fitness/Freshness’ chart generates three numbers which represent the rider’s current fitness, fatigue and form – ideal if you want to track your performance over a long period of time and particularly useful if building over winter for a particularly peak in form further down the line. You can read more about the ‘Fitness/Freshness’ function here.
