15 GIFs that every road cyclist can appreciate

We've experienced just about every emotion possible on the bike - here are 15 GIFs to tell the story

Road cycling is a mixed bag, isn’t it? We love it, of course, and most of the time it’s incredibly fun, but it can also be horrible. It can make you feel amazing – or totally scooped out and empty.

One thing our sport can definitely be relied on to do is make you feel something – be that good, bad or somewhere in the middle.

Chances are, you’ve been through almost every emotion possible on the bike. So we decided to have a bit of fun with it – here are 15 GIFs which show how we sometimes feel, and are pretty sure you will have felt at some point, too!

You beat your rival’s best time on a local climb!

YEAHHHHHHHHHH!

When you’re tucking into some post-ride recovery beverages

Don’t mind if I do!

When someone asks you a silly question

“Do you wanna go for a bike ride this weekend?”

When you switch from flat pedals to clip-ins

So. Much. Easier.

When you check the weather for the weekend… and it’s set for sunshine

The forecast says shiny yellow suns for all the days. Can you feel the good vibes?

When you spent the whole day on the sofa eating cake and watching a pro race

Darling, clear my schedule, I absolutely must watch all six televised hours of the Tour of Azerbaijan!

The feeling when you’re so tired from training…

…you can’t even lift your own arms

That time you tried mountain biking

“And we will never speak of this again…”

Getting back on the bike after some time off

Maybe it was the winter, maybe you had an injury, but for some reason this whole bike riding thing feels really weird all of a sudden

When you’re planning a ride with an old buddy

Can’t wait to get out on the roads with that guy/gal after all these years!

After a long ride…

…and all you want to do is sleep

When you reach the last feed zone of a sportive

What is there to eat? Yes, I’l have all of that please. Twice. Now. In my face.

When you just finished a monster climb…

…and it’s descending time

When you haven’t quite mastered taking your jacket off while pedaling

It takes practice, guys.

Finding out you have to spend a week without riding your bike

The pain is real
