The UK’s longest one-day sportive, the Chain Reaction Cycles Etape Xtrem, will roll out in Wales next year.
Covering 226 miles, with 12,723ft of ascent, the Etape Xtrem, set to take place on Sunday June 14 2015 and strictly limited to 100 riders, will take in a course which combines all three routes of the Snowdonia-based Etape Eryri.
The 76-mile Canol, 103-mile Mawr and 47-mile Bach, each taking in the sportive HQ festival at the base of Caernarfon Castle, combine to form the longest sportive in Europe.
Online registration for the sportive, promoted by Always Aim High Events, will open at midday on Monday September 1.
However, those keen to take part are urged to register their interest early by following this link in order to be among the first to receive registration details.
With more than 300 people having already registered their interest in the event, it is likely to sell out very fast.
Events manager Rob Samuel said: “The Etape Xtrem is going to be absolutely immense. We know that it’s going to attract some of the hardiest and toughest cyclists from around the country and even the world and we love it.”
Riders prepared to tackle the brutal route will enjoy mobile support teams, feed stations around the course, an exclusive Etape Xtrem Salomon t-shirt and a Chain Reaction Cycles goody bag.
