There’s still time to enter the Isle of Wight Riviera sportive.
We took part in the preview ride and found the Island’s terrain unexpectedly undulating, and the views of the seascape “breathtaking”.
The event, which will feature a 25km opening loop on closed roads, will be held on Sunday May 20, and organised by the highly experienced Southern Sportive team, a partner of RoadCyclingUK.
Four routes are available, ranging from a challenging 154km to a 25km loop on fully closed roads, suitable for families.
Support includes a fully marked course, feed stations, Torq energy products, and electronic timing with instant results. All entrants will receive a goody bag, an event t-shirt, free tea, cake, and ice cream made locally by Mighella.
Local photographer, Jason Swain, will be photographing the event with images to be downloaded for £1, with proceeds going to the Earl Mountbatten Hospice at Newport.
Entries can be made online until Wednesday May 16, so if you fancy a ride on closed roads in beautiful surroundings, then hurry – entry on the day won’t be an option.
Discount codes for reduced ferry crossings are available.
