Rapha will host an Etape du Tour evening on Friday June 14 for riders preparing to tackle this year’s edition of the sportive.
The 2013 Etape will take place on Sunday July 7, covering a 130km route in Annecy, scaling five climbs, including the summit finish of La Semnoz, a 11km ascent which average 8.5 per cent.
Rapha will send 100 women to ride the event, which covers the same course as stage 20 of the 2013 Tour de France, as part of the Rapha Women’s 100 initiative.
Having complete a full recce of the route, presentations from Rapha and Cyclefit will provide detailed advice on what to expect along the road, cultural background to the region and an insight into riding tactics, gearing and fuelling.
“While aesthetically seductive, it’s a tough day on the bike with plenty of climbing,” say Rapha. “The presentation will give you all the advice and inspiration you need to be prepared (mentally at least) for the big day.”
The Etape evening will start at 6pm at the Rapha Cycle Club on Brewer Street, London, for drinks and nibbles, while the presentation itself will take place approximately ten minutes away at The Old Cinema in the University of Westminster from 7pm.
Tickets cost £15 from www.rapha.cc/rapha-etape-evening-2013
