Richardson’s Rumble sportive offers fast, flat Cambridgeshire century

Ready to kickstart your season? 100-mile sportive back for eighth year

Looking to clock an early-season century? The Richardson’s Rumble sportive, which returns on Sunday (April 10), is offering 100-mile and 100km routes on fast, flat roads in Cambridgeshire.

Now in its eighth year, the sportive is a popular way to kickstart to the season but, while there is no climbing – the winds can make it an equally daunting challenge.

Backed by Kross Bikes, the event is fully supported with signage, mechanical back-up, a broom wagon and feed stops, while there is free car parking, changing and shower facilities at the event HQ – St Ives’ St Ivo Centre.

A free snack and hot drink at the Local Café is also provided to all finishers, while there will be road captains offering on-the-fly riding advice for newer riders looking for tips on group riding, sportives and nutrition.

The road captains’ offer a free service, but it is advised to sign up beforehand as numbers are limited.

And for those not yet ready to tackle a century, or riders just looking for a shorter ride on similar terrain, there is also a 55km route available.
