The Ride to the Horns Sportive returns on Sunday for its fifth edition, offering 56 and 97-mile routes through the Buckinghamshire countryside.
The Ride to the Horns is organised by Wheels and Wheels, the company behind UK sportives including the Forest of Dean Classic, as well as the Duva International in Majorca.
The long route takes in some of the Chilterns’ iconic climbs, with Whiteleaf, the Crong, Dunsmore and the Hale all coming late on the route before Studmore and Ivinghoe Beacon ahead of the drag to the finish.
The short route is a new loop taking in a handful climbs before joining the long route at Toms Hill for the Studmore and Ivinghoe Beacon ascents on the way to the start/finish at Mentmore.
Both routes will be fully signposted, have electronic timing, well-stocked feed stations with Clif Bar energy products, full mechanical back en-route as well as the start/finish, NEG outriders on the course and a broom wagon should all else fail.
Sign on is from 7:30am in the Mentmore village hall, with the long route starting from 8:00am and the short from 9:00am. Car parking is on the edge of the village and refreshments will be available on the village green after the event.
Entry costs £29.50 in advance for the long route and £35 on the day, and £19.50 in advance for the short route and £25 on the day. Enter at www.wheelsinwheels.com
