Event organisers Velo Events and Italian clothing firm Santini have launched the Santini Cotswold Autumn Classic, with the inaugural sportive to take place on Sunday October 7.
The event follows on from the sell-out success of the Santini Cotswold Spring Classic that took place over the Easter weekend and, while the Autumn Classic will start and finish at the same venue (Cirencester College), riders will be sent out on a brand new route.
The event will offer two signed routes of 100km and 160km, with well stocked feed stations, NEG and MediBike motorcycle outrider support, neutral service support (provided by Performance Cycles, Fulcrum and Schwalbe), electronic timing, hot food at the finish for all riders, plenty of free parking, shower facilities and more, while Santini winter clothing will be on sale at special event prices.
Jon Sangan, Santini’s UK brand manager, said: “We were really impressed with the Easter event. Despite the terrible weather the riders all came back having enjoyed the ride – and the hot food provided at the end went down a treat.
“It was also really great for us to be able to talk directly to riders and find out exactly what they need to cope with the worst of what the British weather can throw at them. Our new October event should be a great way for riders to finish off their sportive season in style.”
