London Legacy Sportive – Sunday September 27
Alongside the Tour de Yorkshire sportive, Human Race have added another Tour de France-inspired route to their 2015 calendar.
The London Legacy Sportive takes in much of the route used for stage three of last year’s Tour and also includes a lap around the Lee Valley VeloPark.
Three distances – 42 miles, 92 miles and 117 miles – are on offer, which take in Epping Forest and the Essex countryside.
Gary MacGowan, head of road events at Transport for London, said: “We have devised a stunning cycling route inspired by the legacy of Stage Three of last year’s Tour de France and also by the 2012 Olympic Games.
“Participants can look forward to stunning scenery as they take on some challenging and technical sections of the route, moving through the Essex countryside.”
The long route features 1,229m of climbing, while the medium route includes just shy of 1,000m of ascent.
Entries for the sportive, for which riders are encouraged to raise funds for official charity Access Sport, are open now at www.humanrace.co.uk/cycling.
