Velo House, Tunbridge Wells
The Velo House in Tunbridge Wells was born out of a love of cycling and the desire to share that love of cycling with everyone – be they cyclists themselves or not.
Great coffee by Coffee Officina, a small independent roaster, makes it an ideal pit stop for cyclists, while there are also draught beers on tap and food prepared on site. Seating for 50 people inside, and 20 outside, means there’s plenty of space to kick back and relax, whether you’re wearing lycra or not.
There’s also a shop stocking Focus, Scott and Parlee, among other brands, and an on-site workshop, while the menu and beers are updated and themed in accordance to the cycling calendar.
Cycling jerseys hung from the ceiling, races on the big screen and a steady flow of riders gives Velo House a distinctly two-wheeled flavour, but it’s also become as popular with locals as it is with cycling aficionados.
