Tour of Cambridgeshire - June 6-7
One of the most eagerly-awaited fixtures on this year’s sportive calendar, the Tour of Cambridgeshire promises to deliver the authentic continental gran fondo experience to British cyclists.
The event, which also includes a sold-out time trial, is to be held on fully closed roads, with the Sunday’s 125km gran fondo offering the opportunity to compete (in seeded groups) or just enjoy the sportive ride.
Organisers believe the route, which starts and finishes at Peterborough Arena, is similar to the terrain found in Belgium, with short, sharp climbs followed by the wide-open roads of the fens.
Riders wishing to compete in the front groups will also be able to ride for the £1,500 winner’s prize (the same for the fastest man and woman).
The sportive is also on fully closed roads and the event doesn’t start until 12 noon, meaning no pre-dawn departures either.
Price: £56
