Cannondale have always been right at the front of the innovation wave, and this year are celebrating 35 years of being out at (or very near) the front with two, rather special, limited edition Six13 road bikes.
So where did it all start? 35 years ago in a Connecticut pickle factory. The original product to display the Cannondale branding was the worlds first bicycle towed trailer called the “Bugger.” It was much later in 1983 when the first bike rolled out of the factory, in the shape of an aluminium touring bike. Cannondale continued to work soley in aluminium, and made huge fat downtubes and super smooth welds its trademark.
Christoph Sauser, Cadel Evans, Mario Cippolini, Gilberto Simoni and Damiano Cunego have all been key ingredients in Cannondale’s product creation process, riding to the great heights of success aboard their Cannondale bicycles.
So, to celebrate their 35th birthday, Cannondale have launched a special Limited Edition, rather stunning version of the Six13. The anniversary Six13 Team Ltd 1 features a ball burnished frameset and will have full Dura Ace group set, SI carbon 39/53t crankset and Mavic Kysrium ES wheels and comes in at the bargain price of £4,199. The slightly lower budget Six13 Team Ltd 2 is available with Shimano 105 10-speed components, SI carbon 36/50t crankset, Mavic Aksium Race wheels and Hi-Bright gloss frame finish, this is priced at a slightly more affordable £1,899.
To ensure these are very special bikes, Cannondale are only producing 35 of the Ltd 1, and 400 Ltd 2’s.
