You won’t miss the Tinkoff-Saxo team in the peloton at the Tour de France.
The squad will ride in a special edition fluorescent design during the 2014 race, taking advantage of a UCI rule which allows a team to switch kit for one event each year.
The kit, designed by Italian brand Sportful, retains the blue of long-time sponsor SaxoBank but turns the ‘Tinkoff yellow’ fluoro to help avoid confusion with the Tour’s maillot jaune and to make riders stand out in a peloton otherwise dominated by dark clothing.
The limited edition clothing includes Sportful’s BodyFit Pro Race, R&D Speedskin and R&D Ultralight jerseys, as well as the BodyFit Pro Ltd bib shorts, and will be available in selected Sportful retailers.
We joined the team for the first training ride in the fluoro kit in Yorkshire, ahead of this weekend’s Grand Départ. Nicolas Roche was also taking his maiden ride on the new Specialized S-Works McLaren Tarmac. Take a closer look at the Irishman’s latest machine here.
