Two days of sportive riding in early April

Taking place over the weekend of April 5-7, Friday night will kick off with the four-mile Copshaw Cracker Hill Climb TT, which rises to approximately 800 feet on Black Edge Moor.

Sportive riders will then come to the fore on Saturday and Sunday, with two routes on offer on each day, with distances ranging from 45 to 90 miles to provide an early-season test of sportive form.

The Newcastleton Cross-Border Classic organisers are promising “quiet twisting lanes, open Roman roads, challenging climbs and seemingly never-ending descents”.

All sportive routes will be fully signposted, with feed stations stocked with energy drink from Accelerade, while there will also be a broom wagon, mechanical assistance and event photography.

Sportive entry costs £20 for either day, or £35 if you wish to ride both days, while the Copshaw Cracker Hill Climb TT costs £3 to pre-enter, £4 on the day. Visit www.sip-events.co.uk/border-classic-sportive for more information.
