Biblical storms, a miscommunication which saw Michael Matthews celebrate his second place finish on stage two as if it were a victory and now, of all things, a burst air bridge – the Tour of Poland has provided plenty of unexpected twists and it’s only three days old.
Despite the close call with the deflated road marker on stage three, Theo Bos (Belkin Pro Cycling) would not be denied his first win of the race with a powerful final sprint.
Devoid of his lead-out train, despite a great effort to control the front of the bunch on the finishing circuit by the Dutch team, Bos outsprinted Luka Mezgec to take stage three victory.
And UCI WorldTour photographer Stefano Sirotti was on hand to capture all of the stage three action.
