Adam Blythe (NFTO) ensured the second edition of Prudential RideLondon concluded with a British victory, bringing a successful weekend to a successful conclusion.
Thousands enjoyed Saturday’s sunshine for the Free Cycle and RideLondon Grand Prix, before tens of thousands more braved the rain for the RideLondon-Surrey 100 sportive before the men’s race brought an end to proceedings on The Mall.
Weather meant a shortened route for the sportive – devoid of the treacherous descents – but more than 21,000 nevertheless rolled out of the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park for the event.
And with elite road racing stars such as Marianne Vos (Rabobank Liv Women), Lizzie Armitstead (Boels Dolmans), Sir Bradley Wiggins (Team Sky) and Philippe Gilbert (BMC Racing) riding, there were plenty lining the routes of the Grand Prix and Classic too.
