Tour of Britain 2014: British domestic riders who could make their mark

The men flying the flag for the home UCI Continental teams

The Tour of Britain will pit the finest home domestic riders against some of the WorldTour’s elite, as the British UCI Continental teams bid to prove the gap to cycling’s top tier is falling.

NFTO, Team Raleigh, Rapha Condor JLT, Madison-Genesis and Velosure-Giordana will be flying the flag for Britain, alongside a Great Britain national team and, of course, Team Sky.

Yanto Barker (Team Raleigh), who was crowned Elite Road Series champion, believes the domestic teams should carry no fears about competing with their illustrious rivals however.

The Welsh rider cited Adam Blythe (NFTO) triumphing at RideLondon as an example of what can be achieved by the British riders and has tipped Raleigh to find success at the eight-day Tour this time out.
