Mark Renshaw proved there is more to Omega Pharma-Quickstep’s sprinting armoury than just Mark Cavendish after sprinting to victory in Llandudno.

Renshaw was triumphant on a day in which the Tour of Britain showed you do not have to be in the Alps, or Asturian mountains for that matter, to enjoy spectacular scenery and stunning routes.

Rolling out from Knowsley Safari Park, the route for stage two took the peloton along the North Welsh coast and across the Great Orme.
