Newly crowned world champion Michal Kwiatkowski (Omega Pharma-Quickstep) gave his rainbow jersey its first race outing at the Giro di Lombardia, one week after his Ponferrada triumph.
And to celebrate the occasion, Specialized gifted the Polish ace a custom-painted S-Works Tarmac to match his new rainbow-striped jumper.
Unlike previous versions of the world champion’s bike, such as 2013 winner Rui Costa’s custom-painted Merida Reacto Evo, Specialized have gone for something a little more abstract.
The white-framed bike is decorated with the iconic colours but in an artsy fashion, while Kwiatkowski himself sported a helmet to match and rainbow-striped race gloves – while resisting the urge to go for white shorts.
