An unusual antique bicycle built in 1905 is to be auctioned later today in the Cotswolds according to the BBC.

Designed by the Danish engineer Mikael Pederson, lot 1234 is one of an estimated 30,000 bicycles produced by the Lister Petter workshop of Dursely, Gloucs at the turn of the 20th Century. It’s surprisingly lightweight at 19lbs and has an interesting design, including a hammock-style seat rather than a saddle (see here or here for a picture). After half a century hanging in a barn the bike has been put up for auction by its owner’s widow complete with all its original parts – no doubt it will attract a fair bit more than its original selling price of £16.30.
