Pro bikes: Steve Cummings’ and Matt Brammeier’s Cervélo S5

MTN-Qhubeka duo roll out for Tour de Yorkshire on Canadian firm's flagship road machine

While they no longer supply a WorldTour team, Canadian firm Cervélo still play a big role in the professional peloton.

Garmin-Sharp’s merger with Cannondale to form Cannondale-Garmin who, of course, ride the American brand’s machines, left Cervélo without a team at cycling’s top tier but in ProContinental outfit MTN-Qhubeka they have the next best thing.

The African team will be at the Tour de France and Vuelta a Espana this year, and also completed the spring Classics – helped by there only being 17 teams with a WorldTour licence this year.

They were also at the Tour de Yorkshire, where Liverpool-born duo Steve Cummings and Matt Brammeier – both of whom were signed over the winter – were part of the eight-man squad.

Before the race, in which Cummings was to finish 11th overall, rolled out though we went to check out their two Cervélo S5 bikes.
