Trek to launch revamped Madone 2016 aero bike

Trek Factory Racing have been using the latest version of Trek's Madone at the Criterium du Dauphiné, and it looks like a full on-aero machine and a big departure from the previous model

Ahead of an expected launch ahead of the Tour de France, Trek have already had their new Madone out in the capable hands of Bauke Mollema and co at the Critérium du Dauphiné.

The eagle-eyed among you will have already noted that Trek have been phasing out the current Madone over the last year, with all but the 2.1, 2.5 and 7-Series bikes disappearing from the range.

Obviously no official announcement on the new machine has been made yet, but the Madone looks set for a full on aero makeover, possibly incorporating some of the features from Trek’s other bikes too.

With the Émonda introduced last year as Trek’s super-light climbing bike, and the Domane geared towards comfort and the Classics, the Madone, previously pitched as an aero-influenced all-rounder, was due an update – and this is it. Here’s what we know so far.
