Bridging the gap
Bridging the gap
As summer turns to autumn and the temperature beings to drop, there are a few clothing essentials that will help close the gap in your cycling wardrobe.
While the mornings are a bit chillier and the evenings begin to draw in, the start of autumn doesn’t mean you need to start reaching for the bib tights, winter coats and your thickest thick gloves, but you do need more than the the jersey and shorts which will have seen you through the best summer days.
Arm and knee warmers are the staple of any UK cyclist’s autumn wardrobe – and spring for that matter, when the same challenges exist. They provide a barrier again the wind (and often light rain) and are compact enough to be stowed in a jersey pocket if the weather warms up through the day.
Arm and knee warmers are best bought as a combo to cover both bases so, with that in mind, we’ve picked out six of the best over the following pages.
