Defending Tour Series champions Madison-Genesis are gearing up for another big season on the British domestic scene after a winter of change.
A new team manager in Dave Povall, with Roger Hammond – who is still sport director consultant – taking on a DS role with Team Dimension Data, a new kit and new riders were all introduced at iceBike* 2016 last month.
From there, the Milton Keynes-based team jetted straight off to Mallorca for their team training camp – sans Ireland’s Track Worlds competitor Felix English.
From climbing Sa Calobra and, in the words of Tom Stewart, ‘a bit of time in the wattage cottage’ to the more light-hearted team bonding, things are coming together nicely for the team.
“I have reasonably high expectations of all of them, having worked with Gruff Lewis and Tobyn Horton previously I know what they’ve done and what they’re capable of,” Pov says of his new charges in the video.
“All these guys are capable of big things and from being on other teams I’m very aware of their strengths.”
