Bristol Cycle Festival, an event run by the “Cycling City” in collaboration with Bristol groups Shambala Festival, Team Rubber, The Bike Forum, Bristol City Councils Neighbourhood Arts team, Sustrans, Spoke n Chain and Cycling City plus a growing number of event organisers across the city, will run from 11th to 26th September with over 50 events will be taking place all over the city .
The festival will be a platform for city centre spectaculars, carnival, rides, races, art, talks and film, all drawing on the creative spirit of Bristol and its passion for the humble bike.
Events include:
- Cheddar Adventure: an exciting Sustrans ride off road to Cheddar and back.
- City centre Road Race: St Nic’s Nocturne is a series of cycling races around St Nicholas’ market in the heart of old Bristol. The Nocturne circular circuit will be a showcase of national cycling excellence in the South West.
- Cycling in the City at Colston Hall: a day long showcase of all things bike, with live pedal powered stage, bike fashion show, stunts, talks and films.
- Magnificent Revolution: bike powered stages in the centre of town, bringing free music to us all.
- Bicycle Monolgues from Amsterdam: a look into the mind and heart of bicycle lovers.
- Thinking Caps: looking for 100 designers to submit cycling cap artwork to then be made and exhibited at Howies during the festival.
- Knowalternative: cycle-in solar cinema located on the Pill cycle path.
- Cyclowns: cycling circus musicians are bringing their act to town.
- Poet in Motion: BCF’s very own festival poet, delivering exclusively written cycling verse – on a bike of course
- Dokumenta Cyclista: Europe-wide photography portrait project of cyclists and their bikes.
