A new app for the iPhone and iPod Touch, Bike Doctor is intended as the equivalent of having a bike mechanic in your pocket ready to spring to action whenever it’s needed.
The App contains 20 repairs and maintenance routines from keeping the bike lubricated to the more advanced stuff such as adjusting a rear derailleur.
Built in collaboration with Ron Forrester, who previously created the Cychosis app for the iPhone to help keep track of miles covered, it is primarily aimed at beginner cyclists and anybody who is frustrated at their bike making a funny noise or not performing how it should.
The app is designed to be as easy to use as possible. The user simply loads the app, taps the bike button and chooses the part of the bike in need of repair before simply following the step by step instructions. Each step comes with a colour picture to illustrate the repair.
Bike Doctor is priced at £2.99 and is available through the Apple App Store. A discount price of £1.19 is available to buyers until around the end of 30 June 2010.
