Following a glitzy launch and the revealing of some big signings, anticipation was high for Team Sky’s first race of the season. And they got the dream start they so desired, taking the win in the Australian Cancer Council Helpline Classic race.
After the perfect lead-out, Gregory Henderson crossed the line for an emphatic victory closely followed by team mate Chris Sutton. Team Sky couldn’t have hoped for a better result, and gives a clear indication of just how seriously this team wants to win. It will be interesting to see this momentum carried into the Tour Down Under, which starts this week.
