Eagle-eyed readers who have been following Team Sky’s debut will have noticed their unfamiliar choice of helmet. They’re actually Kask helmets, an Italian company which has supplied professional team Barloworld previously.

The new Vertigo helmet the team will use – with a custom colour scheme of course – incorporates a unique ‘Up’n’down adjustment’ hinged adjustment system that allows for both size and vertical adjustment, making achieving a comfortable fit easy via the turn-dial.

Cooling is taken care of with 24 vents made possible with a reinforced frame inside the helmet. Inside there are reflective strips on every strap and at the back of the helmet.
