Veja, a shoe manufacturer and Cyclope, the first cycle shop in Paris to specialise in fixed-gear, have joined forces and released an exclusive shoe adapted for fixed wheel cycling.
The shoes have been ‘adapted’ for fixed wheel riding, says the company, by the use of a wild Amazonian 25mm hard-wearing sole and a ‘leather yoke’ at the front to ensure they can withstand fixed wheel abuse.
They’re made from ‘ecological materials’ too, an organic cotton canvas grown by small producers in Brazil and a chrome-free vegetable-tanned leather.
They’ll be limited to just 384 pairs and available from Brick Lane Bikes and Offspring Neal Street.
Mickaël and Thomas created Cyclope in 2008. The shop specialises in track and fixed wheel and has quickly become the epicentre of the ‘Parisian fixie-quake’.
