Endura Racing have been crowned team champions of the 2012 Halfords Tour Series.

The Scottish-based squad won six of the eleven rounds, and took four individual wins – two each for Scott Thwaites and Zak Dempster.

Directeur sportif, Julian Winn, said: “It’s fantastic to win. Winning the Halfords Tour Series has been one of the projects for this year, a big target for us and we made no secret of that.

“We did all we could with staff and riders to win so it’s mission accomplished. That means a lot and everyone has done a good job.”

Defending champions, Rapha Condor Sharp, were runners up without winning a round of the team competition.

But strong individual peformances, with former national road race champion, Kristian House, winning in Durham and Aberystwyth, and Olympic champion, Ed Clancy, victorious in Peterborough, allowed the London-based squad to pip Team UK Youth to third place by a single point.

Magnus Backstedt’s men in red, white and blue won just one round of the team competition, at Aberystwyth, but took an individual victory with Niklas Gustavsson in Redditch, and delivered a series of strong team performances.

The final round in Stoke on Trent brought an individual victory for Team Raleigh-GAC’s Bernard Sulzberger, who took overall victory in the Boardman Bikes sprints competition.

Node4-Giordana won the team competition in Stoke, their second of the series, the first coming in Torquay, where Marcin Bialoblocki took individual victory.
