Team Disney-Marlboro topped the RoadCyclingUK Fantasy Tour de France standings for stage one after the squad’s virtual directeur sportif, Chad Fetrow, correctly predicted the top three on the stage.
Chad’s dream team included stage winner Peter Sagan (Liquigas-Cannondale), second placed Fabian Cancellara (Radioshack-Nissan-Trek), who also scored points for retaining the overall and points lead, and third placed Edvald Boasson Hagen (Team Sky).
That helped Team Disney-Marlboro to a whopping 193 points for the stage – and Chad wins a Specialized Solar Jet Jersey worth £60 for his efforts.
Stage two should see the sprinters come to the fore. Will Mark Cavendish (Team Sky) continue his Tour de France domination despite lacking a leadout train, or will the likes of Andre Greipel (Lotto-Belisol) and Marcel Kittel (Argos-Shimano) steal a share of the limelight?
