Altura Reflex Windproof Jacket £89.99
Released last winter, the new Reflex range from commuter’s favourite Altura aims to offer a premium product and, judging from the Reflex Windproof Jacket, they might have hit the mark.
The Reflex Windproof jacket is a lightweight garment with strategically placed Windtex panels that keep the wind out. It’s highly breathable and will even keep the rain out to a great extent.
The extra care and attention that has gone into Altura’s high-end clothing is clear to see when pulling this jacket on: the fit is excellent and easily as good as many jackets costing twice as much. It’s ergonomically cut and the multi-panel design means it fits like a second skin when in the bike position, with a generous degree of space and room around the shoulders, arms and waist. Elastic side panels give enough stretch that the jacket stays snug no matter what position you occupy on the bike.
The jacket is packed with features too, including two rear pockets and a third zipped for your valuables, a dropped tail, high collar, thumb and silicone hem tape to keep the waist in situ. And Altura’s popularity with commuters is clearly evident: there’s plenty of reflective panels adorning the jacket along the shoulders, arms and side panels, making this jacket a good choice if you’re heading out into the dark.
Colours available include this stylish blue and black or black and grey. Five sizes from S to XXL.
Verdict
A surprisingly decent performing jacket that boasts an incredible fit and is comfortable on the bike.
