The London Bike Show opens tomorrow (Thursday January 17).

Thousands of cyclists and people planning to join the sport in 2013 are expected at the show, which last year attracted 88,000 visitors in four days.

Highlights of this year’s show, which will be open every day until Sunday (January 20), include a test track hosted by RoadCyclingUK, offering visitors the chance to try the latest machines from Cannondale, Cube, Fondriest, Giant, Specialized (courtesy of the Specialized Concept Store, Kingston) and Wilier.

Other attractions include displays of the latest high-end kit from brands including Assos, Pinarello, Reynolds and Wilier, indoor racing each night from the IG Nocturne, official unveiling of the new Madison-Genesis and Team IG-Sigma Sport squads, a Cool Wall of desirable products, and action displays from the Animal Bike Tour, including Martyn Ashton, whose YouTube video of him backflipping a Pinarello Dogma 2 has nearly seven million hits.

VOS Media’s Group show director, Geraldine Reeve, said she was confident the 2013 London Bike Show would be the biggest yet.

“Cycling really captured the public imagination last year with the success of riders like Bradley Wiggins, Sir Chris Hoy, and Dame Sarah Storey – and Sir Chris will be joining us,” she said.

“We’re expecting thousands of people to visit the ExCel Centre between tomorrow and Sunday, and we have a great show planned for them.”

Hundreds of exhibitors will show the latest bikes, clothing, accessories and components, in an offering extending from carbon fibre super bikes to training machines.

Fitness, nutrition and cycle-specific travel companies will be among the exhibitors. Cycle tour operator, RPM 90, will be launching a competition offering a long-weekend’s cycling in Tuscany from April 18 to 21, and Upgrade Bikes will also give the lucky winner a set of Reynolds Attack wheels with Schwalbe tyres.

The show opens from 10am to 6pm on Thursday and Friday, between 10am and 7pm on Saturday, and between 10am and 6pm on Sunday.

A single ticket gains access to four shows, including The Outdoors Show, The Active Travel Show and the Tullett Prebon London Boat Show, as well as the London Bike Show.

Tickets for adults cost £16 in advance or £20 on the door. Tickets for visitors aged over 60 and for students with valid ID cost £13 in advance or £16 on the door.

Admission is free for children aged 15 and under accompanied by a ticket holder (a child ticket is required).

A discount is offered groups of 10, reducing the price of admission to £12.
