Measuring your power output is the current in-vogue method of measuring your performance, and Quarq Cinqo is a new power-meter designed to replace a standard spider and relay power through the ANT+Sport protocol.
Available to replace the spider on chainsets from FSA, Truvativ, Cannondale and Specialized, strain gauges inside the Cinqo send information wirelessly to compatible devices via the ANT+Sport protocol. Devices that currently communicate with the spider include the new Garmin Edge 705 GPS computer, Quarq Qranium and iBike Pro Wireless.
The spider promises high accuracy and little weight penalty, weighing just 130g. Measurements are sourced from 20 grids on 10 gauges and powered by a user-replaceable battery. The cost? About £600.
