Organisers of the Hovis Freewheeler Cycle Event, London, are recruiting 300 marshals for the event which takes place on 23 September.

The event, currently being heavily advertised around the Capital, is deigned to educated people about the benefits of cycling to work.

The London Cycling Campaign will be leading rides from borough start points to join six ‘Freewheel Hubs’ (open 10am-6pm) across London where riders can gather to be led by experienced cyclists onto the non-cycle traffic free route. The hubs will also offer the chance to have bikes checked by experts

The Hovis London Freewheel is open to all Londoners and will give tens of thousands of riders a unique opportunity to cycle past the capital’s most iconic central London sights at their leisure on roads free of non-cycle traffic.

A 14 km route will pass the London Eye, Victoria Embankment, Westminster and St Paul’s Cathedral and the Mall. The central London traffic-free route (open 11am – 4pm) does not have an official start and finish – there are several entry points and riders can circulate as many times as they like.
