World team trial champions, with individual world time trial champion, Tony Martin, at the fore, and boasting an armoury capable of competing in the mountains and the sprint stages, they have come to Tirreno-Adriatico with the intention of dominating from start to finish.
They launched their ambitions obliterating their rivals on the opening stage team time trial to put Manxman Mark Cavendish into the blue jersey.
