The seemingly inexorable rise of Strava, the GPS-powered, ride-tracking service used by thousands of amateur cyclists, has continued with the unveiling of climb details for the inaugural Women’s Tour.
The world’s best female cyclists will roll out for five-stages of competition from the Northamptonshire market town of Oundle on Wednesday May 7, and hit the first climb just 36km into the race.
Strava has signed-up as partner to the high-profile women’s race, which will showcase the world’s best female cycling talent, including Great Britain’s Olympic silver medallist, Lizzie Armitstead (Boels-Dolman), the current leader of the UCI Women’s World Cup after six podium finishes in six races this season, including victory at the prestigious Ronde van Drenthe.
