There was a great turn out for Saturday morning training this week at Herne Hill and despite a grey start, the sun was shining by mid-morning and all comers got the chance to make their legs ache, including some rather tiny, talented sprogs.
The session got underway a little late, as the track was wet in patches but it soon dried and a range of novices quickly got to grips with a fixed wheel and quite a few of the group then joined in with the full training.
There were some very young riders, who really were quite impressive on a fixed wheel, and a few couriers who joined in with the
experienced group after getting on the track for the first time. With a huge amount of experience on a fixed gear, the gang of couriers said their first time at Herne Hill was awesome and gave them a real chance to get some power out on the track.
A number of training exercises gave all abilities the chance to participate and push themselves as much or as little as they were comfortable with. The session allowed riders to work on speed, power and endurance.
Now that the clocks have changed, as painful as it was getting up this morning, we can look forward to all the evening training that we hope will kick of in the next week or so. Keep an eye out for updates on that.
