With the Classics season in full flow on the Continent, the UK’s very own one-day race, Sunday’s Tesco Rutland-Melton CiCLE Classic, saw Rapha Condor Sharp’s Zak Dempster conquer the farm tracks of the East Midlands.
The 168km race has shades of Italy’s Eroica, as well as Paris-Roubaix and the Tour of Flanders, taking in the tight, twisting country roads and dusty gravel tracks around Rutland.
This video, filmed and edited by Andy Waterman for Condor, follows Rapha Condor Sharp’s efforts, which culminated in 23-year-old Australian Dempster outsprinting Erwin De Kerf (Hand in Hand Espoirs) and Marcin Bialoblocki (Motorpoint Marshalls Pasta) respectively (full British Cycling report here).
