Win two tickets to the London premiere of Pantani: the Accidental Death of a Cyclist

Free entry to screening at Cineworld, Haymarket offered

The much-anticipated feature documentary on the life of Marco Pantani will launch in UK cinemas on Friday May 16.

Pantani: The Accidental Death of a Cyclist tells the story of the Italian’s rise and fall and is directed by James Erskine – to whom RCUK spoke earlier this year.

Erskine and ITV presenter Ned Boulting will both be special guests at the film’s premiere – held in London on May 13 at Cineworld Haymarket – for which 200 limited tickets are available here, costing £25 each.

But here’s your chance to win a pair of  tickets to the London premiere, by answering a simple question. We’ll announce the winner on Friday (May 9, 2014).

The film will also be screened at Belfast’s Queen’s Film Theatre on Thursday (May 8) on the eve of the Giro d’Italia before launching in more than 20 UK cities.

London, Belfast, Edinburgh, Leeds and Birmingham are among those set to host screenings of the film, with full details on all the showings available here.

The film will then be released on DVD and Blu-ray on May 26 and can be pre-ordered now on Amazon.

The film explores Il Pirata’s demise from Giro d’Italia and Tour de France champion in 1998 to his untimely death six years later, treading the murky worlds of cycling’s culture at the time.

Based on Matt Rendell’s The Death of Marco Pantani, the film also includes interviews with the likes of Sir Bradley Wiggins and Greg LeMond and Erskine told RCUK it is best piece of work to date.
